Ireland became the first European country to reenter a national shutdown amid the second wave of COVID-19. However, the continent will allow visitors who test negative for COVID-19 to quarantine for just five days upon the arrival.
As of now, visitors from the United States, as well as parts of Europe, are required to quarantine for 14 days. Essential workers and travelers from Northern Ireland are exempt.
Thanks to these latest updates from the Irish government, it allows travelers who test negative for COVID-19 at least five days after their arrival to leave quarantine early. Visitors must fill out a contact tracing form and if this step has skipped the patron could face a fine or jail time.

The world could finally feel a little bit safer if the news is true. The United Kingdom became the first western country to approve the distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine. The drug companies Pfizer and BioNTech announced Wednesday that approval of the widespread use has been made. According to the report, studies show that it is up to 95% effective.
The disease has killed 1.5 million worldwide and has infected tens of millions more. If the vaccine proves successful, the rest of the world could start to ease and start using travel apps again. For places like Ireland and the rest of Europe, the chances of another shutdown would decrease and nonessential businesses can start growing their brand again. Only time will tell if this will be the case though.
